Newv1.0.0

Astrolium 1.0 — public launch

Initial public launch of Astrolium: 7 house systems, Swiss Ephemeris under the hood, AI assistance across 9 languages, Solar Fire import, and the free hobbyist tier.

Astrolium 1.0 is live. After two years of private practitioner builds and a six-month closed beta, the public launch covers the entire core feature set the team uses in its own client work.

Added

  • Free tier with 5 client profiles, 7 house systems (whole sign default), Solar Fire .SFCHT import, and full chart calculation
  • Practitioner tier with unlimited clients, AI assistance across 9 languages, PDF export with branded headers, and the session prep view
  • Agency tier with team workspaces, white label PDF templates, batch transit scanner, and public API access
  • Swiss Ephemeris under the hood, with median chart calculation at 8 ms warm cache and 42 ms cold
  • Public roadmap voting and the founding member intake wizard

For the engineering behind the speed claims, see the ephemeris service post. For tier comparison, see pricing. For the full feature list, see features.

Newv0.18.0

Predictive bundle — profections, ZR, and time-lord tracker

Three predictive techniques shipped together, plus a unified timing dashboard. Decennial bound calculation bug fixed for the 4th decennial across Egyptian terms.

Three predictive techniques shipped together for the first time, plus a unified timing dashboard. This is the release that closes out the original Q2 predictive bundle on the public roadmap.

Added

  • Annual profections calculator with time-lord highlighting on the wheel
  • Zodiacal Releasing for Spirit and Fortune, with peak / loosing-of-the-bond marking
  • Lord-of-the-year transit tracker — auto-watches transits to the profected lord and surfaces the next 12 months on a single forecast strip

Improved

  • Wheel renderer: cusp lines now respect the chosen house system in the legend so exports match what you see
  • PDF export size dropped roughly 40% with subset font embedding

Fixed

  • Decennial bound calculations were off by 6 months in the 4th decennial across the Egyptian terms — thanks to @luke-h and @marina_v for the catch
  • Timezone DST edge case for Brazil pre-2019 charts

See the predictive timing feature page for what these unlock together. The full Q3 plan is on the roadmap.

Newv0.17.0

Synastry — bi-wheel, inter-aspect grid, and grade analysis

Synastry fully shipped: bi-wheel, 10×10 inter-aspect grid with per-aspect orb sliders, composite chart, and grade analysis with both Hellenistic and modern weightings.

Synastry has been a placeholder feature for too long. This release ships it fully, with the four pieces practitioners actually use: the bi-wheel, the inter-aspect grid, the composite, and a grade analysis that respects more than one tradition.

Added

  • Bi-wheel synastry view with inner / outer toggle
  • Inter-aspect grid (10 × 10) with per-aspect-type orb sliders so you can tune for the kind of reading you're doing
  • Composite chart with both the Davison and midpoint methods
  • Synastry grade analysis weighted in two ways — Hellenistic and modern — side by side, so the disagreements are visible

Improved

  • Reading mode hides the chrome with a single keystroke (R) — useful for video sessions
  • Client roster gets per-chart notes plus a session log so you can scroll back through what you've already said to a returning client

See the synastry feature for the long form writeup and the practice case study for how returning client notes change the second and third session.

Newv0.16.0

Returns — solar, lunar, and Saturn with timing tools

Solar return charts with relocation, lunar return plus phase tracker, and a Saturn return calculator with the three exact passes — going in, exact, and going out.

Return work is the heart of practical predictive astrology. This release ships the three return types most practitioners actually use, each with the timing details that matter for client work.

Added

  • Solar return chart with relocated chart toggle so you can compare home and travel returns side by side
  • Lunar return plus a lunar phase tracker for the four cardinal phases of the month
  • Saturn return calculator with the full three-pass detail — going in, exact, going out — which is what clients actually feel

Improved

  • Aspect lines: opacity now ramps with applying vs. separating so the wheel reads at a glance
  • Print stylesheet: A4 and Letter both honored, with a 14 mm margin on the binding edge for stapled handouts

For the Saturn return technique in depth, see the Saturn return calculator. For where this fits in the broader predictive stack, see predictive timing and the public roadmap.

Newv0.14.0

Three calibrated aesthetic directions ship together

Archival, Celestial, and Ecliptic — three calibrated chart themes designed for screen and for print. All three honor a print mode that strips backgrounds for A4 output.

The Astrolium chart wheel ships in three calibrated aesthetic directions starting today. Each was designed for screen and for print, with type set on a real grid and no glow effects. Switching between them is one click in the workspace settings.

Added

  • Archival — warm paper, ink-on-paper feel, restrained palette. The default for practitioners who hand clients printed chart wheels.
  • Celestial — near-white background, deep violet and gold accents. Reads cleanly on screen during video sessions.
  • Ecliptic — cream background with teal, coral, and violet accents. Richer; designed for the front of a PDF report rather than the working chart.

Improved

  • All three themes now respect a dedicated print mode that strips backgrounds for clean A4 and Letter output. The print mode is what the Saturn return PDF and the synastry deliverable both use.

For where this fits in the broader product, see the features index and the practice case study where Marina describes hand-delivering the printed wheel during first sessions.

Newv0.13.0

First practitioner-tier features ship

Client roster with chart-per-client, reusable interpretation snippets organized by topic, and a session prep view that builds a one-page pre-call checklist.

Astrolium's practitioner tier earns its price starting this release. The three features that make daily client work possible — a real client roster, reusable interpretation snippets, and a session prep view — are all live.

Added

  • Client roster with a chart per client, including birth data and a notes field that follows the chart everywhere it appears
  • Reusable interpretation snippets, organized by topic (planets, houses, aspects, time-lord work) so you build a personal library over time
  • Session prep view — a pre-call checklist of what's active in the chart, drawn from profections, returns, and any transits within ±2° to natal placements

For the broader case for practitioner-tier features, see the 200 clients case study where Marina describes how the session prep brief saves 15 minutes mid-session. For pricing, see the pricing page; the practitioner tier is currently $29 per month.
