Astrolium's Numerology module computes the Pythagorean core numbers from a birth date and a birth name, shows the working behind each one, and exports the reading as a PDF. It is free on every plan; see pricing.
For a quick Life Path, Destiny and Soul Urge without an account, run the free numerology calculator. For how the reduction works step by step, read the numerology guide.
What the Numerology module computes
The figures group by where they come from. Life Path and Birthday are date-derived. Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, Maturity and Karmic Lessons come from the letters of the name. Personal Year is a cycle, built from birth month, birth day and the target year.
A separate system, on purpose
The module header carries a short note on the method's history. Modern name numerology was built by the American New Thought movement between 1905 and 1930, starting with Balliett in 1908 and systematised by Jordan in 1965. Astrolium treats it as its own practice.
It never correlates numerology with the natal chart. Two unrelated systems happen to start from the same birth date, and where they agree, that is coincidence rather than confirmation. You will not find a Life Path mapped to a Sun sign anywhere in the module.
Two name fields, and no placeholder
The form has two name fields. Name for this reading is prefilled from the active client and can be edited. Name at birth is optional and only needed if it differs.
The module's own note explains the doctrine behind the split: the birth name gives the major figures, and a current or chosen name gives the minor ones. A chosen name is not treated as a lesser reading. Each figure is labelled with the name it came from, and one is never quietly promoted over the other.
With no name at all, the module shows nothing for the five name figures. The on-screen reason is plain: a reading computed from a placeholder is worse than no reading. Life Path and Birthday are held back too in that state, because the calculation service computes them in the same request as the name figures and refuses that request without a name. Personal Year still runs from the date alone.
Cyrillic and mixed-script names
Russian numerology has its own table. Latin runs A=1 to Z=8; Cyrillic runs А=1 to Я=6 across 33 letters. The section header tells you which table produced the name figures, so a client who checks a transliterated spelling elsewhere can see why the answer differs.
Mixed script gets a badge and a stop. Smith Ольга, for example, contains two alphabets with different letter tables and no accepted way to merge them, and transliterating would give a third answer. The module blocks the name figures, shows the Latin and Cyrillic parts it found, and offers Edit the name. It does not guess.
Reading a figure
Open a card and it shows the headline number, a line saying whether it is a master number or a single reduced digit, the working, and the interpretation returned for that figure. If the calculation source sent no interpretation, the card says so rather than filling the gap.
Masters get a Master chip. Karmic debt gets its own chip, for example Karmic Debt 13/4, and it always sits beside the reduced digit. The distinction matters, because 22/4 and 13/4 look alike on paper and mean different things.
The Method plate states the rules in force. Life Path uses Decoz component reduction. Y is treated as a vowel in every position, Lynn Buess's rule, and a chip on Soul Urge and Personality says so. The Personal Year boundary is the calendar year, 1 January to 31 December. Settings also lists Decoz's conditional Y-by-syllable rule, marked as needing upstream support, and a birthday boundary, which Astrolium does not compute yet.
Karmic Lessons and Maturity
Karmic Lessons lists the digits absent from the name, with the present digits shown beside them. When nothing is missing, the card reads None. Maturity adds Life Path to Expression, so it needs both a date and a name.
Ask AI, without the name
Every figure has an Ask AI button, and the Karmic Lessons card has its own. The prompt carries the figure, its dual notation and its arithmetic. The name, and the letters that went into it, are redacted before the prompt is built, so any step of the working that spells out the name reaches the model as a placeholder.
Ask AI draws on AI credits. Pro includes 50 a month, and a one-time $9 top-up works on any plan, Free included. More on the assistant is on the AI assistant page.
PDF export
Download PDF produces a Numerology reading document. It records the name used for the calculation and the digits absent from it, so the sheet you hand a client matches what was on screen. For branded, multi-module client reports, see PDF reports.
Where it fits
Numerology sits in the Tools group of the workspace and reads the same client record as the rest of the app, kept in your client CRM. It is also one of the modules in Astrolium Personal, described there as numbers from your birth date and birth name.
For the single-shot version, use the numerology calculator. For the method itself, read the numerology guide.
